    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson 2 дні тому

      There are some companies that make 300blk specific mags, magpul, lancer and another that I can't think of. But yes, you can run standard magazines as well if you don't mind some small little quirks here and there. Gen 3 pmags worked great for me with no modifications needed if you can find some for cheap.

    Review? Man, this is an ad. It’s nice to see the stock, but I’m looking for someone to discuss quality, durability before I buy one. Hard to find videos on this company’s products. Has that standard type stock with the cheek riser held up over time? Does it feel flimsy, would you trust it to work when it counts?

    • @DouglasThompson
      @DouglasThompson 3 дні тому

      I have since lost contact with IMI defense, but their products felt super robust, I still have these items, and in regards to the video, yes, it is not something I'm proud of looking back. IMI Defense had a giant catalog of accessories they wanted me to try out, and they sent me everything. I got overwhelmed and had to figure out a way to present everything efficiently, time-wise. Their magazines are awesome quality, pistol prips very well thought out, stocks were very quality, up thier with magpul easy. Some of their other products like the front handguard rail and AK magazines I didn't get to test because I didn't have anything compatible, but they still felt very precisely made.

      @univex-4185 yes indeed, it has been complete for a while. I am going to do an update video to describe all the mistakes and then do a short song with it mic'd up. It is a bit quieter than the guitalele I based the main shape from but it is also half as thick with a cutaway to boot so it's impressive that it's as loud as it is for it's size. I think I am going to build a larger guitar next. Or maybe I will try to make this same design I did but refine it with the things I learned. Not sure yet.

I watched the whole thing start to end. It is a journey of learning and accomplishment. I am really impressed with what you did 1st time out of the gate. I liked your construction ideas and the headstock shape as well. I bit unconventional in some way. Look into "Forester bits" to keep the bits from wondering. I found a compete set of assorted drill bits and driver tips at ACE Hardware for about $30. If you want to know I will post the part number for you to check out. Also pre punch the center. I believe that will help you. The I heard that that sound I said OH SNAP! If you attempt the same technique you might want to put a thick board across the back for that process. I own the steel string. I"m getting a cheap nice case from online, rather easily. It's a very quality ax. All the things he claims are true, but it's every bit as good as my Cordoba or Taylor. The preamp is *not* unusually big. It's not a @#$% Gibson L-5. It's worth finding used or on sale. I'm getting the nylon string next. I've not had the experience he has at all. BTW, I've had everything from Gibson to Dano to Kiesel. Great vid, as he does objectively say, this might be a guitar for you, and so on, I just wanted to put in my 2 cents. HF.

      yes, the guitar is amazing quality and I'm sad I don't like it. it looks and plays amazing, just has zero value acoustically. I was misled mostly by the seller, I asked him if the guitar sounds good unplugged ad he told me yes, I asked if it was loud enough to record with a mic and he said yes. No fault of the instrument but there is almost no point in being hollow at all with the pickup type it uses, except for weight saving reasons.
