IMPORTANT CHANNEL NEWS! (BrokeA$$ POV ep.4)
I figured out that this is why mine stopped working, but i had the opposite problem: mine didn't feel like grabbing the hammer, and mine started running away on me.
New build video coming soon! Made a full size this time around. ;)
New to 300blk... are those mags 556 mags? I can't fins anything specificly for 300blk
There are some companies that make 300blk specific mags, magpul, lancer and another that I can't think of. But yes, you can run standard magazines as well if you don't mind some small little quirks here and there. Gen 3 pmags worked great for me with no modifications needed if you can find some for cheap.
Did you see the deer far away crossing the road on 15:29 ?
No, I hadn't but love those little details... wish more games would do stuff like that.
Spruce makes it a cracker of a little device. Just don’t try PSP or DC and stick to lower draw N64 games and it’s a delight
What game is that? Thought it was forza at first
Dirt rally 2.0 :)
Review? Man, this is an ad. It’s nice to see the stock, but I’m looking for someone to discuss quality, durability before I buy one. Hard to find videos on this company’s products. Has that standard type stock with the cheek riser held up over time? Does it feel flimsy, would you trust it to work when it counts?
I have since lost contact with IMI defense, but their products felt super robust, I still have these items, and in regards to the video, yes, it is not something I'm proud of looking back. IMI Defense had a giant catalog of accessories they wanted me to try out, and they sent me everything. I got overwhelmed and had to figure out a way to present everything efficiently, time-wise. Their magazines are awesome quality, pistol prips very well thought out, stocks were very quality, up thier with magpul easy. Some of their other products like the front handguard rail and AK magazines I didn't get to test because I didn't have anything compatible, but they still felt very precisely made.
1:58 it looks like your front window is illegally tinted 😂🔥
Lol
I spent 4 hours installing this game and half the time was spent trying to get FFB to work.... this fixed it, i'm on the fanatec DD1, none of the registry stuff was really labelled properly for me, but luckily i just change the first thing you showed and nothing else, and now it works. thank you!!!!
Cool deal! I'm glad my video could help out!!!
Nice work!
Thank you! I'm in the process of filming a new build right now! An acoustic thin body RG. ;)
Can I record and mix using the mobile app only?
@@marwana.h.6169 I'm not sure, I think you might need a 3rd party app for that. You can try downloading the app and seeing if it's an option. I believe it's free.
@DouglasThompson I am about to buy the guitar bur want to record and mix that's why I am asking before buying 😊
@marwana.h.6169 I'm really not positive, the only function I am sure of is the ability to play music out of the guitar built-in speaker. Please let me know if you find out.
You guys lost my package ! In NJ - one stop from dist to go and you send to St Louis ?! Wth
You are correct...that was me and my fellow Colorado Chronies.
why not just buy magpul 300blk mags made for the ar 15. problems solved.
@johnnychason4472 check the date the video was made. :)
Very much looking forward to it...
Same here, I love to watch what Douglas Thompson does. He's my favorite.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing
I did not hear the cracking sound the first time I watched... It was LOUD! Good thing it did not mess stuff up...
Ya, luckily it was in a non-important area. I found the crack, it was the brace as I thought and it was right where the backplate met with the treble side brace.
You are super efficient and skilled with your hands
@rexwells4552 Thank you, I'm going to make another one soon. I'll try and edit it down do it's more watchable. I know this one was long.
Pleasantly surprised by how well it sounded. Id like to hear it after the rest of everything gets done.
@univex-4185 yes indeed, it has been complete for a while. I am going to do an update video to describe all the mistakes and then do a short song with it mic'd up. It is a bit quieter than the guitalele I based the main shape from but it is also half as thick with a cutaway to boot so it's impressive that it's as loud as it is for it's size. I think I am going to build a larger guitar next. Or maybe I will try to make this same design I did but refine it with the things I learned. Not sure yet.
5:13 yay normal wheel
@@iamummlol it's rare bit it happened.
3:20 Bro the turbo wheel killing me😂😂😂
@iamummlol lol it's a classic. Easily one of the least comfortable.
Does the cammus LP8 overheat really fast?
Not in my experience, maybe if you run it at 100 percent for many hours? Not sure, I have heard a couple people ask me about that though.
what would i need to buy to add a shifter/handbrake plate to this
Looking forward to your next build and video!
@@richardthompson7611 coming soon, I'm going to do an update on this one since I made some mistakes that I want to share.
@@DouglasThompson 😁
If you were going to add a shifter how would you do it?
Just 2 or 3 brackets and an extra peice of single or double channel extrusion mounted to the outside of the upright. Maybe 14 or so inches?
@@DouglasThompson Thank you for the quick response!
Megatron lol isn’t he from the 80’s 😂
Lol
how you can geet out the pin if i put it the wring way???
Gonna have to just hammer it out probably.
@@DouglasThompson i turn it with tweezersto the right place
change the bucking for dynamic presition
No difference at all
Ya...really disappointed in this product.
I have a red dot, magnifier set up. To use my magnifier I need to get close to it and that’s when my charging handle smacks my face. It’s upsetting but I guess I’m gonna have to deal it because I don’t think this solution would work for me…
You could also maybe slightly slot out your upper a bit more so the latch can engage more.
@@DouglasThompson that actually might work, I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes!
This is so cool!
Ya it's a really decent monitor for the price!
I’ve done that before with some futon wood I found on the road
It's a lot of satisfaction, you have a video by chance?
@@DouglasThompson no video unfortunately. I did that close to 20years ago. Made an electric solid body. The futon was quarter sawn beech which I used for the neck.
@regiment6541 that's too bad, would have been hard to capture that back then though, I understand. Very cool though, you still have your creation?
@@DouglasThompson yeah I still have it. It looks a lot like a Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbird
@regiment6541 send me a Pic demureg@gmail.com
What mod is he using
Rbr pro and rsf
Thanks so much for the testing and info here. I ended up with some amazing results after starting with their Low Preset and then adjusting per your guide. The results now are on par with the Medium Preset that looked great, but stuttered for any real use. The new mix I have looks as good as that to me and runs as clean as the borderline bland Low did. Great work!
Thank you much for the feedback! Glad I was able to help.
Yo that’s sickkk
Thank you! It was a great learning experience, I made so many mistakes but in a good way lol. I have another build planned, maybe I will start it soon.
great! thx!
You're welcome!
Bro this is amazing bravo ! 👏
Thank you so much! I finished it btw, it's all fretted up and I adjusted the string height. It sounds pretty good. Mostly fundamental tones but for a first time with free wood I'd say it was a success.
I love seeing the WRX!
@skitownstreetcred ya, I miss it, but it's too expensive to fix for me...I'm thinking about parting it out, but I want the suspension, wheels, and some other various parts.
AWESOME!!!
@skitownstreetcred thanks man, I'm playing it right now and planning my next build. I am still waiting for the reset of my frets to come in the mail. When I bought these frets I have on here, I was under the impression they would be uncut but I was wrong. Lol
Nice video and guitar! See all that cammus in the background apart to
@SIMRIG412 I get sent many prototypes, I have a prototype wheel from them right now that I should do a review on but I kinda promised myself I wouldn't simrace until September...I'm kinda torn because I really want to show off the item.
@@DouglasThompsoncould do a review with little ffb or none just for a review of a wheel. That why you don’t hurt yourself more
It's not the ffb, it's the quick corrections and the arm position for driving I have come to realize.
W video❤
@@t32ting thanks testing!
Son, impressive!
Thank you dad!
@@DouglasThompson you're welcome!
Fantastic very entertaining video and one hell of a cool build...
Ya, I will do an update one I finish fretting it. :)
Almost forgot to ask. How long did it take to do this project and what did you end up spending on it? Thanks
About a week I think
I had to buy all the specialty tools like the planer and chisels, I paid around 4 or 5 hundred for all the tools. I plan on building more after this so I figured it would be a good investment and might help keep me busy while trying to heal up.
@@DouglasThompson Heal up? I knew you had issues with your shoulder. What has happened?
@knowyourjoe8826 both shoulders are messed up and simracing really irritated them to where they felt like fire everyday. Things are calming down. I'm taking time to hopefully fully recover so I can get back to racing. I'm planning for September to come back. I'm doing some exercises as well to try to make the pain go away. Fingers crossed.
@@DouglasThompson Thoughts and prayers for you to make a full and speedy recovery.
Congrats! This was outstanding! Really impressed with what you did and the tools you used to do it. I have wanted to do this for so long and never taken the plunge. I watched the whole thing start to end. It is a journey of learning and accomplishment. I am really impressed with what you did 1st time out of the gate. I liked your construction ideas and the headstock shape as well. I bit unconventional in some way. Look into "Forester bits" to keep the bits from wondering. I found a compete set of assorted drill bits and driver tips at ACE Hardware for about $30. If you want to know I will post the part number for you to check out. Also pre punch the center. I believe that will help you. The I heard that that sound I said OH SNAP! If you attempt the same technique you might want to put a thick board across the back for that process. I know of a technique that may help you if you want to address that spot. You know the one. Let me know and I will expand on that. Looking forward to more of this if you pursue it. Thanks for sharing.
Ya man, it was an emotional roller coaster with those 3 blunders I did. Once I get the rest of the frets on Wednesday, I'll make another video about leveling the frets and polishing them. Maybe I'll write a proper song to demonstrate the guitar a bit better too.
Only14 min into this and already gotta ask... Where does one get a planer for $200? Thanks.
@@knowyourjoe8826 amazon.com ;)
@@DouglasThompson Thanks.
@@knowyourjoe8826I searched "machine planer" and found one that was part of the Amazon prime deals.
@@DouglasThompson NICE!
The wood is pine...
the build is so cool, I got wood in my pants
@@richardthompson7611 I think the fretboard is something different though.
This video is great, I approve.
@SleepyPantsSimRacing Thanks man...we should hag out sometime, I feel like we would get along really well based on your content and mine!
Nice toaster
@tkdmp5698 thanks, my son bought it.
@@DouglasThompson I see you use it a lot See!! beacause of the eye hahah
@@tkdmp5698 lol
I own the steel string. I"m getting a cheap nice case from online, rather easily. It's a very quality ax. All the things he claims are true, but it's every bit as good as my Cordoba or Taylor. The preamp is *not* unusually big. It's not a @#$% Gibson L-5. It's worth finding used or on sale. I'm getting the nylon string next. I've not had the experience he has at all. BTW, I've had everything from Gibson to Dano to Kiesel. Great vid, as he does objectively say, this might be a guitar for you, and so on, I just wanted to put in my 2 cents. HF.
yes, the guitar is amazing quality and I'm sad I don't like it. it looks and plays amazing, just has zero value acoustically. I was misled mostly by the seller, I asked him if the guitar sounds good unplugged ad he told me yes, I asked if it was loud enough to record with a mic and he said yes. No fault of the instrument but there is almost no point in being hollow at all with the pickup type it uses, except for weight saving reasons.
do you still have it / use it ? is it still alive?
i gave it away for a contest long ago but the person that has it still uses it. :)
